September 07, 2003 Being me, I agreed to come into work, because I just can't say no. I get to work at my normal 7:15, and find Amy already there. So, I ask her what she is working on, basically asking if she wants me to do the kennel, or the ICU. With her nose about as far up in the air as it goes she informs me that she has 'been doing both the kennel and the ICU at the same time' acting as if I had gotten to work three hours late and she had been forced to do everything by herself. I'm sorry, but I saw what time she clocked in, it was a wopping six minutes before I did. With her nose still in the air, she informs me that I can 'just go in the back and get started.' I know I should have said something, and not let her order me around, but I don't like confrontation, and I just wanted to get everything done before the doctors got in. So, I went in the back, did all the animals in the kennel, and came back up into the ICU. Commence jaw-clenching. She left one cats cage a complete disaster, didn't give him any food or water, and, upon checking his charts, didn't give him meds. Not wanting to be bothered with going to hunt her down, I cleaned the cage. She comes meandering in, with that blank look she always has on her face, and leans up against the counter, and watches me clean the cage. I ask her if she can grab me the medication that cat was supposed to get, to which she informs me that he doesn't get any meds. I am sitting her holding this cat, who really isn't very nice, so I don't really have the time to argue with her. I asked again, telling her that he did need the meds. She grabs the pill, and throws it into my hand. I get the cat taken care of, and grab the chart to show her. I turn to the previous page, to which Amy immediately informs me is yesterdays. How I could have lasted two years at Countryside without Amy informing me of the date on the chart, I will never know. With as much calmness as I could muster, I told her that I could read the date just fine, but to notice that the cat had been on Clavamox for four days, so, on meds like that, it is a safe assumption that the medicine will continue, unless otherwise noted by the doctor. Then, I had to go through the exact same argument with her on a horse. Finally had the medicine situation done, when I went to take care of a dog with parvo. I notice that his IV line is shooting the fluids out of a tiny hole. I tried to fix it myself, but the dog insisted on endlessly wiggling, so, I went to ask Amy for help. 'I'm not touching that dog.' is the answer I get thrown in my face. I ask her why, to which she replies that he bites. Okaaaay, I have just injected two things under the dogs skin, and, if he didn't bite me while poking him with two needles, somehow, I don't really forsee him going crazy and biting her while I change out an IV line. I told her that I would hold him, and she could fix the line, or we could get a muzzle. Nope, she refused to touch the dog at all. So, the doctors finally get there, and, in the rush, I forgot to mention the dog's IV line. So, with all that crap happening in the morning, I am already a little bit angry with Amy. Then, Dr. C and I went to move a horse from our ICU stalls into the regular ones. I open the first door to find that the stall which should have been stripped THREE weeks ago is still dirty..on to the next one, dirty as well, the third one, stripped with no shavings. The last stalls are flooded, so, clenching my jaw very tightly, I handed the horse to Dr. C as I quickly stripped out the stall. Amy never does her friggin job, and it's pissing me off. She doesn't mark off meds, won't mess with dogs that she decides she doesn't like, will hardly lift a finger to clean (which is her job, mind you), and shoves her head so far up Fuller's ass (much like LeShay) that it's hard to tell where one begins and the other ends. Since Fuller likes her (because he likes anyone who is a good ass kisser) and LeShay likes her (because she likes anyone Fuller deems worthy), going to them as the "managers" doesn't get anything fixed with Amy. Instead, it's always me who ends up cleaning the cage, or stripping the stall, or getting yelled at because something isn't done. Gah! She actually told Dr. C one time that the reason she didn't mark off treatments was that she could find and pen, and just "didn't have the time to go and look for one." There are always pens everywhere around the clinic, and what the heck kind of excuse is that. It's just as important to mark off the medicine as it is to give the medicine. So, anyway, back to yesterday. I was already fuming, when I mentioned to Dr. C that the dog's IV line was screwed up, and Amy hadn't been able to help me that morning. Dr. C tells me that she has an emergency to go on, but walks up to the clinic, and tells Amy that she HAS to help me. I finish doing the stalls, and go up to ask Amy for help. I saw that the lights were off, so, I figured maybe she and Dr. Fuller had fixed it. I turn it on, and see LRS shooting out once again. So, I find Amy, sitting on her butt, chatting happily with Dr. Fuller, while I am pouring sweat, having stripped the stalls she should have had stipped in the first place. I ask, as nicely as I can force the words out of my mouth, for her to come help me. 'Is it that parvo dog, because Dr. Fuller and I already fixed it.' She puts on an aire of importance. I inform them that it's still shooting fluid across the room, so it obviously wasn't fixed too well. 'Well, I am NOT touching that dog, so you'll just have to get it by your self.' Now, she says all this in front of Fuller, who doesn't say a thing. Now, I garuntee if I ever pulled that crap with LeShay, I would probably find myself pretty darn close to fired. I think Dr. Fuller saw how hard I was clenching my jaw, and told me to get the dog out, and he would see if it was leaking fluid or not. Okay, so he didn't believe me...fine. At this point, I just wanted to take care of it, and go home. So, I get out the "evil vicious biting dog who did nothing but wag his tail and lick me" and showed Dr. Fuller the leak. He at least look some what embarassed at having missed it. Amy stood in the doorway the whole time, just glaring at me. I take and take, but I swear, one more day like this, and I will snap. Her attitude needs to change, because I don't have the patience for that crap. Evanescence concert on Friday, yay!!! <-//->
